| Event News Success for Lucy Nicholas in team GB Lucy Nicholas, a year 6 pupil and a modern pentathlete was recently invited to join a team of six other athletes to represent Great Britain in Setubal, Portugal to compete in the Portuguese National Youth Championships. The competition was of the highest standard and the high temperatures added to the challenge of competing. Lucy fought hard and achieved a personal best in the swimming and came first in the 1000m race. Overall she achieved a creditable 3rd place and was rewarded with the bronze medal. She was very proud to have been chosen to join the British squad and has been spurred on to train hard for not only the 2010 British Pentathlon Championships but has set her sights firmly on the 2020 Olympic Games.     |
