Summer Term 2010 The Summer Term has started with some excellent results for us: Wednesday 12th May U9 Kwik Cricket vs Northbourne Park St Faith's at Ash won by 64 runs St Faith's at Ash 278 for 2 and Northbourne Park 214 for 5 St Faith's opened the batting with powerful strokes from many players. A large number of sixes were hit in all directions; Harvey Wichall hit one of the first, Aidan McGuirk took some quick singles, Lewis Thornby came in at the end and smashed a few more, but everyone contributed. When Northbourne batted our bowlers tore into them with some genuinely fast and accurate bowling, particularly by Oliver Nedderman. An excellent result for our first U9 game. Well done to all. U11 Rounders vs Wellesley House St Faith's at Ash won both games St Faith's at Ash U11 9 - Wellesley House B U11 6.5 St Faith's at Ash U11 14.5 - Wellesley House U10 9 It was a lovely day for a rounders match and the Year 6 girls were focused on playing well. When we arrived at Wellesley House the girls found out they were playing both the U11 and U10's, but they remained confident. Firstly, the team played the U11's and after a shaky start they soon got into their stride. The fielding was strong with some good catches and communication from the whole team. When we had our chance to bat, the first half wasn't great with a few girls getting stumped. However, with some great hits from Kira Sanders, Suzi Wyatt and a sneaky hit to the right from Lucy Nicholas, we were soon back in the game. Final result win to St Faith's at Ash. When the U10's match got under way, St Faith's at Ash batted first. This time they had excellent hits from Georgia Timpson and Charlotte Farbrace and good play from the whole team. The fielding was similar to the last game and the game finished with the same result - St Faith's at Ash winning!! Wednesday 5th May U11 Kwik Cricket vs Spring Grove St Faith's at Ash won by 16 runs St Faith's at Ash 241 for 4 - Northbourne Park 225 for 4. The game was evenly matched, but we just beat them by 16 runs. Spring Grove put up a good fight, with their amazing batting. St Faith's at Ash displayed some outstanding fielding by Charles Fuller, Thomas Donaldson, Sebastian Clapson and Callum Baughan. Our batting was good from James Beesty, Lewis Walker, Chester Briscall-Harbey, Eddie Woolston and Harry Rook. So St Faith's at Ash edged the win! |
